When I pulled in the garage I heard a loud beeping/screeching noise. I though Huh maybe it's them working on the Gas Well behind our house. I went to get the mail and thought wow; I can still hear it, what is that noise. As I got back to the garage I thought Huh, I think that's coming from the house. So I left my stuff in the car, put down the mail and opened the back door. As I went inside I noticed that the alarm was going off, but not the regular sound it was more ear piercing. I thought great last month my car this month the house. I quickly turned keyed in the alarm code, but the alarm stayed on. I backed out of the house and called Micah, luckily he was pulling in right about that time.
As we went into the house we realized that all of our Smoke Detectors in the house are going off at the same time. The beauty of technology is that they’re all hardwired into the alarm system. After a quick inspection of the house we found no fire, but the alarms are still going off, let me tell if you've never heard 5 smoke alarms screeching at the same time it's deafening!
Micah got the worse end of it at least I could cover my ears; he had to climb on a ladder and remove each of the alarms from the ceilings. Once we got to the last alarm he realized that it was the one in Jade's room that was faulty, every time he tried to plug it back in it would set all of the alarms off again.
Micah finally got all of the alarms back up and running minus Jade's when we noticed poor Echo hiding in our closet making this sad meow. Poor kitty who knows how long the alarms were going off for, I think he lost his hearing for a couple of hours. When I picked him up he was crying and super sleepy and every time I put him down he did that sad meow again. Poor baby, I don't think he got to nap all day, he was so traumatized.
With all of that aside I am truly thankful that our house was not on fire nor did anyone break in as I first thought. Now I could finally relax and only an hour past my bedtime.
